Lunaz has presented their latest electromod project which is no other than the gorgeous Jaguar XK120. The wildcat from the ‘50s was meticulously restored by the UK company before getting an electric powertrain conversion.

The donor vehicle for the commission was Jaguar’s famed 1952 XK120. The exterior is painted in a bespoke Obsidian Blue after going through a full bare metal restoration at Lunaz premises in Silverstone. The job was so thorough that the chrome on the bumpers, grille, window surround and mirrors and the wire wheels are shining like it’s 1952.

Inside the cabin is where the magic really happens. The beautiful Burr Walnut veneer wood on the dashboard and the doors has a satin lacquer finish. Similar to modern EV concepts, the classic has been retrofitted with new carpets made from reclaimed nylon fishing nets, with other pieces of marine plastic pollution used for backing materials.

The seats are upholstered in a blue high-quality fabric, with their frame made of recyclable aluminum. The same fabric was used to create a bespoke pair of shoes by Arthur Sleep, handed over to the owner of the XK120. Finally, Lunaz integrated a modern infotainment touchscreen below the analogue dials on the center console, with Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The sportscar traded its original 3.4-liter XK engine for Lunaz’s modular EV powertrain, converting it into a zero-emission vehicle. The company hasn’t shared any performance figures nor the available range of the electromod.

Prices for Lunaz’s Jaguar XK120 start from £350,000 ($423,838) before taxes, and the company is already taking orders for commissions. The first example has already been handed over to its owner after it was presented at the Concours on Savile Row in London. Mind you, Lunaz also offers EV conversions for other classic models such as the Aston Martin DB6 and the Bentley S3 Continental Flying Spur.
