The Georgia Bulldogs returned to the practice field Thursday for their 13th practice of fall camp. Media was allowed to view roughly 12 minutes’ worth of the action.

Coming off a Saturday scrimmage where there were several notable absences, Thursday’s viewing period — which consisted of practice periods 3-5 — opened the door to see who was available for the Bulldogs and who was not. The good news for Georgia was everyone who was absent Saturday was participating in some capacity Thursday.

Offensive linemen Tate Ratledge (turf toe) and Earnest Greene (hamstring), running back Kendall Milton (hamstring), wide receiver De'Nylon Morrissette (knee hyperextension) and tight end Brett Seither (undisclosed) were all back at practice, although in various capacities. Ratledge was working with the offensive linemen during individual drills, but Greene was not — the true freshman was inside the indoor practice facility working with a support staffer, as was Morrissette and Seither. Milton was working with the running backs with no obvious limitations.

Seither was the only player in the group to be wearing a black, non-contact jersey. At this point, the only other player to be wearing a non-contact jersey — besides the quarterbacks — is wide receiver Mekhi Mews.

The players working inside the IPF were joined by inside linebacker Rian Davis. Aside from those players, the only other Bulldogs in the IPF during the open viewing period were the kickers and punters.

While Ratledge was available among the offensive linemen, he did not run with the first-team during various drills. The first-team lineup consisted of left tackle Broderick Jones, left guard Xavier Truss, center Sedrick Van Pran, right guard Jared Wilson and right tackle Warren McClendon — the exact same lineup we saw from the Bulldogs’ first scrimmage last Saturday.

The open viewing periods Thursday featured the defensive players going through drills with each of the defensive coaches. Co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp was in charge of a drill forcing the players to launch off the snap of the ball then knock the ball out of the pseudo quarterback’s hands; fellow co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann led a drill in which the defenders were free rushers on a blitz; defensive line coach Tray Scott led a drill during which the players were engaged and had to get off the block; and defensive backs coach Fran Brown ran a drill forcing the defenders to cover wheel routes downfield.

Muschamp moved on as the practice went along to lead a different pass-rushing drill.

There were a number of notable people on hand for Thursday’s practice.

In addition to scouts from the Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley was on hand watching the Bulldogs practice. The older brother of former Georgia receiver Riley Ridley, Calvin Ridley played at Alabama when Georgia special teams coordinator Scott Cochran was the strength and conditioning coach. Ridley posted a video earlier this month featuring him working out with Cochran in Georgia’s weight room.
